Beneficiaries of the Run
All funds raised from the Run go towards supporting local
schools, plus youth and children projects in the Masham area
2010
Thanks to all you runners & helpers, this year we managed to
donate £3000 for the benefit of local children.
Masham School used the funds to go towards
taking the students to the Tutankhamun Exhibition in
Manchester and had a visiting theatre company "Riding Lights" stage
a play "Nearly The Goat".
Kell Bank School (2nd water stop on the race!)
took their students on a Pantomine trip to the Harrogate Theatre to
see Aladdin with the rest of their funds going towards their
"Forest Schools Initiative". By kind permission of Swinton Park
Estate, the children set up camp and learned about the
outdoors.
Acorns Nursery, a successful pre-school club,
used the funds for much needed equipment for their ever expanding
classes.
The Scouts and Guides used the funds for new
equipment and to help keep subscriptions low in order to make
scouting and guiding accessible to all the children in our
area.
In these lean times these extra monies make a real difference to
our childrens experiences. We hope you all enjoyed the run and see
you next year!
2009
We raised even more money this year, approx. £2500, this was
disributed between:- Acorns Pre-School Masham, Masham
Community Office, Kell Bank School, Masham School, Masham Scouts,
Guides, Brownies and Masham Bonfire Appeal. Once again thank you to
all those runners who helped to raise the money from their entry
fees.
2008
Thanks to your help we managed to distribute £2100 to Masham and
Kell Bank schools and the Scouts, Guides and Brownies. Our thanks
to all who have endured the Burn Valley Run in helping to raise the
money from the entry fees!
