BURN VALLEY RUN LATEST NEWS
4/07/09
ENTRIES NOW CLOSED - NO ENTRIES ON DAY
LATEST NEWS: Just over 24 hrs to go, hope
everyone has prepared well and more importantly hydrated well, it
looks like it could be a hot one.
I will put a list of the course water stations in the Mens
changing rooms at Masham School, and the Womens changing rooms in
the Town Hall.
RACE DAY INFO: Make sure you check this page
for all race day details, it may save you time getting information
on the day, there will be a help desk in the race HQ. in Masham
Town Hall.
I have contacted the local weather station at RAF Leeming, the
latest forecast for tomorrow is warm, and 24 deg. with the
possibility of thundery showers later in the day.
RESULTS: Should be on this site sometime on
Monday, together with a race report.
PRIZE LIST: I have listed this years prize list
on a new page. Please note, if you do not collect your prize at the
presentations it will not be posted out to you due to cost and
size. So please contact me to make arrangements for collection.
WHO'S ENTERED: We are pleased to welcome back 6
times winner Ian Fisher of Otley A.C.. Ian holds the course record
of 71.11. It will be interesting to see how the battle develops
between Ian and Gary Dunn the winner for the past 3 years.
Both runners have just completed in marathons, Gary at Edinburgh
and Ian at Windermere, so it will be down to who has recovered
best.
If the mens record is under threat then the Womens record is
also in danger with an entry received from Morag McDonnell. Morag
has an impressive 10m PB of 57.10 and is a member of this years
Ladies Northern 6 Stage Road Relay winners Chester Le Street
A.C.
GETTING TO THE RACE: There could be problems
getting to Masham on race day. If you are coming via the A1 from
the South or North please note that the B6267 exit to Masham has
now been closed due to construction work on the A1. If you are
coming from the North take the A684 Leeming Bar exit and follow
signs for Masham. If you are coming from the South come of on the
A61 to Ripon and follow signs for Masham.
The work on the A61 at Wormald Green is not causing problems at
the moment.
Best of luck for tomorrow.
